Free CPD webinars for solicitors and legal practitioners
The three training webinars are designed to help you learn more about what we do and how you can use our services while remaining compliant. Each webinar will take between 45 – 60 minutes, and at the end, weāll give you a certificate of attendance. You donāt have to attend all three webinars, but we recommend that you do. They are short, youāll learn something new and you can include each one in your annual CPD declaration to the SRA.
Excellent structure and information. Very interesting. Liked the case studies. Flow and pace spot on & will be relaying this back to my whole team as I think they would benefit from the information.
1. Lawful Investigations and Processing Data Without ConsentĀ
Almost a decade ago, the News of the World made headlines. It was discovered that the newspaper was using private investigators to pose as journalists, hack phones and spy on politicians and celebrities. The news prompted the Leveson Inquiry into the private investigative sector. The report made several recommendations, but the profession remains unregulated. Almost ten years on and the industry still has a bad name.
But the good news is weāre not all money-grabbing ***holes with no morals. It is possible to offer a tracing service without having to stoop to low-level tactics. Tremark works hard to keep within the regulations of the law. We also consider the privacy of an individual.
The introduction of GDPR In 2018 has introduced new obligations to individuals and companies that process data. Sometimes it hard to tell if what you need to do complies with the legalities of the Data Protection Act.
This seminar will show you how you can meet the GDPR requirements, while, demonstrating compliance when you want to investigate and process a personās data without their consent.
After the webinar, you will have a much better idea about the rules and regulations surrounding the use of data. What youāll learn will allow you to help clients who want to trace people or assets, without being unsure of your position in law.
This session has served as a very useful reminder of the importance to slow down in our busy professional lives and take stock of GDPR on each & every case. The website links are also particularly useful. The presenter has very easy to follow, knowledgeable & made me feel confident that if I ever need help, then Tremark is certainly where i’ll come.
2. Asset and People TracingĀ
We think itās also important to know who to turn to when you need to use a tracing expert.
In this webinar, we show you how we can lawfully trace missing beneficiaries, debtors and respondents without breaking the law and in compliance with GDPR rules. We go through some case studies to demonstrate some of the techniques we use. Did you know for example, that a change of setting on Facebook can reveal more than you think?
We also have four levels of asset tracing and people tracing products. This seminar explains the techniques and methodology we use to uncover hidden information. Weāll show you how we use data along with the skills of our expert investigators, to uncover people, assets and liabilities that were previously untraceable.
Weāll talk about using data from one of the UKās leading credit agencies and how we obtain detailed personal information whilst remaining compliant with GDPR.
Once we have all the information, we supply you with an in-depth assessment and recommendations. For example, our level 4 report is a deep dive into personal finances. The information includes details from an individualās bank account, mortgages, loans, credit cards and utility accounts.
Great presentation, really enjoyed going through the case study at the end. Good to share the screen & go through the processes you follow, so we can see this first hand.
3. The Practicalities of Process ServingĀ Ā
This webinar will be especially useful to solicitors who have ever had difficulty serving papers to a respondent.Ā We explain how process servers deal with aggressive or evasive respondents, and how you, as a solicitor, can help us to achieve successful service.
We share our extensive knowledge and some useful tips on how to obtain orders for substituted service and what you can do to avoid unnecessary delays. Weāll also have an experienced process server online to share their experiences and answer any questions.
Excellent webinar, Karl clearly knows his stuff, very well presented and very good information. This series of webinars will assist me in giving instructions to investigators/process servers in the future.
