Process serving is a critical aspect of the legal process in the UK, ensuring that legal documents such as injunctions, applications, petitions, and other legal notices are properly delivered to the intended recipient. This procedure is fundamental to upholding the legal rights of all parties involved in a court case, guaranteeing that they are informed of legal actions affecting them and have an opportunity to respond.
In the UK, process serving must be carried out by a professional who understands the legal requirements and protocols to ensure that the service is executed correctly and in a timely manner. This often involves locating the recipient, verifying their identity, and delivering the documents in accordance with legal standards.

With over 100 experienced and vetted professional process servers across the UK and globally within our network, we guarantee reliable and competent service. Our team ensures legal documents are served skilfully and compliantly, typically within seven days. An express service is available for collection and delivery within 24 hours if needed.
As members of the Association of British Investigators, the only professional investigations association working alongside the Law Society of England and Wales and the Information Commissioner’s Office, we are dedicated to compliance, transparency, and delivering a high-quality service.
How much does process serving cost?
In England and Wales, our standard fixed-fee service starts from £125 + VAT and includes up to three attempts at one address plus a witness statement or certificate of service. Urgent service is £175 + VAT, and same-day service starts from £210 + VAT.
What happens if the recipient avoids service or cannot be served first time?
We make up to three attempts at different times of day, including at least one out-of-hours visit, to maximise the chances of successful service. If service is still unsuccessful, we gather evidence and prepare a witness statement to support an application for substituted service where appropriate.
