What is process serving?

Process serving is a critical aspect of the legal process in the UK, ensuring that legal documents such as injunctions, applications, petitions, and other legal notices are properly delivered to the intended recipient. This procedure is fundamental to upholding the legal rights of all parties involved in a court case, guaranteeing that they are informed of legal actions affecting them and have an opportunity to respond.

In the UK, process serving must be carried out by a professional who understands the legal requirements and protocols to ensure that the service is executed correctly and in a timely manner. This often involves locating the recipient, verifying their identity, and delivering the documents in accordance with legal standards.
